First Proof makes a preview of a new website for a local business from the facts on its public listing, and sends the owner the link. You change anything you want, and you pay only after you approve the finished site.

How it works

  1. We find your listing

    We read public business listings and check the website each one names. When a site has stopped loading or no longer works on a phone, we build a preview from the facts on the listing: your name, your phone number, your services and the towns you serve.

  2. We send you the link

    The preview stays a draft. Search engines do not list it, and we take it down after 30 days, or the same day if you ask.

  3. You tell us what to change

    Reply with your hours, a new service or a different phone number, and we update the preview. Two rounds of changes come with every plan.

  4. You approve, then you pay

    Pick a plan and save a card. We charge the setup fee only when you approve the finished site. It goes live on your own domain within 14 days of your approval and the materials we need from you, or the setup fee comes back to you in full.

Setup is $249, paid once, on every plan. After that you pay by the month.

Hosting, monitoring, backups and updates for your site, plus 2 small edits a month.

Everything in Care. Forms on your site that email you each request and send your customer a confirmation from your own domain, the email authentication that domain needs, and a monthly grade and report on the site.
Growth
$249 a month
Everything in Care Plus. A monthly email to customers who asked to hear from you, sent only after you approve it, and a review starter kit.
Launch pack, optional
$199 once
Help getting a lapsed domain back, with your old page addresses sent to the new pages, and a review starter kit.

Month to month, with 30 days notice to cancel. Your domain and your content stay yours. Prices are before sales tax where it applies.

First Proof is a service of RFT Media, a company that builds websites and software for businesses and organizations and keeps them running. Every First Proof site runs on servers RFT Media operates.

Questions

Why did you build a site for me without asking?

A finished preview shows you more than a sales email can. Looking at it costs you nothing, and nothing happens unless you write back.

Where did you get my details?

From your public business listing. The preview uses only what the listing says, so it may be missing things. Reply with what is missing and we add it.

How do I stop hearing from you?

Every email we send has a link that stops all email from us at once and takes your preview down. You can also write to hello@getfirstproof.com.

Who owns the site and the domain?

You own your domain and your content. If you want the site's files, we hand them over, including when you cancel.

Is there a contract?

You accept a one-page service agreement at checkout. Plans are month to month, and you can cancel with 30 days notice.

What is not included?

We do not manage your Google Business Profile. After launch we give you a written plan for setting it up yourself.
